Doubts on Circumcision and HIV Risk Disappear
Sat 24.Feb.2007Showing Love
Sat 17.Feb.2007Steve is incorrigibly sweet, despite my best efforts to break him of it. For valentines day he sent me a Bad Taste Bear (nsfw). Some people aren't terribly fond of them, and I admit that some of them are just gross and not funny, but the ones he's given me are adorable. The one on the left is the one he sent me this year. Last year he gave me the one on the right.
I shudder at what I may have to do to match this. I may actually have to show some affection.
Just kidding Love! You know I love you all the way.
And much bad driving ensued
Wed 07.Feb.2007We finally got what I consider to be a substantial snow yesterday. It's the first time I've seen proper snowfall all winter. It's been mostly bitter cold and windy, or raining and damp. Needless to say, I was very excited. There's even enough left on the ground now that sledding would be feasible.
Unfortunately, snow in Virginia seems to transform normally passable drivers into elderly grandmothers. It took me twice as long to get to class as it normally does. I grant that you should not speed when there is snow on the road, but even the hill that I live on wasn't bad enough to merit traveling below the speed limit. Over-cautiousness is as likely to create an accident as recklessness.
But maybe that's just the New Yorker in me talking.
Scott, where are you?
Sat 03.Feb.2007Scott-O-Rama, a blog which I have enjoyed for the past year or so, has disappeared. The url takes me to a GoDaddy "Coming Soon!" message, and emails to Scott have bounced. If anyone knows what the haps are, leave a comment or contact me.
Sosua, in a nutshell
Thu 01.Feb.2007For a week in the middle of December, Steven and I were on vacation in the Dominican Republic in a town called Sosua. We stayed at the Tropix Hotel and dove with Northern Coast Diving. We didn't really have internet access, so posting regular updates really wasn't an option. I wrote at the end of the day as if I would be posting that day. Then I got home, visited a lot of people, slept, and eventually forgot that I had written this. Each day is on it's own page, so read on. You should also take a peek at the pictures.
