3am

I tend to get a little sensitive when Steve criticises Cobleskill. I think it's mostly because he's right. There are a lot of things here that are stupid, immature, backwards, and just like high school and home. The title actually refers to the one bothering me currently, the fact that student guests need to sign out by 3am and non-students need to be out by midnight. Now this could just be me, but I think that's kinda dumb. What's the point? If I intend to do something that I shouldn't, not being allowed in other dorms after 3 isn't going to stop me.

From what I hear, things weren't all uptight before 9/11/01. Apparently there was a need for a security increase after terrorists attacked America. I'm gonna let you in on a couple things.

  1. America has been attacked by terrrorists for decades; American terrorists. Being foreign doesn't make them special in my eyes. A sociopath with explosives is a sociopath with explosives.
  2. Cobleskill is a little cornfield school in a cornfield town in a cornfield county. Resources would be better spent on oh, say, alcoholism treatment and prevention, rape prevention, cultural enrichment, and the list goes on. Terrorists aren't interested.

All I really wanted was to be able to spend the night in another dorm. Is that so much to ask?
